As we face the new year, let us reaffirm our commitment to do what God has called us to do. God is probably more interested in our FAITHFULNESS to the task than the actual task itself. I love the quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. when he said, "If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.'" We need to take the Lord's instruction on faithfulness to heart and treat my job as if it is the most important thing I will ever do. There are no unimportant jobs in the kingdom of God.
